daytona usa is one of the most legendary racing titles in video game history, either in japan or overseas, being first lanuched in 1993, published by sega, developed by am2 department, daytona usa went popular quickly and becomes famous by it's good controlling system together with the most well-known drifting experience, it's been ported to segasaturn in 1995, preserved the original ac elements/enjoyment although the graphics may look a bit weak, daytona usa 2 was released in 1998, however it cannot keep up the attention/passion from players, even to those royal fans, the most brilliant edition of daytona usa belongs to the dreamcast version, which is entitled daytona usa 2001, meaning this racing legend is still alive in a new century, there's an official net-ranking for this title, the link to the home page got broken some years later, while the ranking tables can still be shown/checked, the rankings ended up with a flaw that a jet(hidden machine) was used and topped the chart,
